The end of semester is almost here and it usually means one thing. The summer holidays are here. Unfortunatelly, I am in a lot of stress lately because I need to find a year placement starting during the summer. I always knew it would be diffucult but it is way harder than I ever imagined. I sent around 100 emails to companies and designers in London and Czech and I got only around 10 replies. I decided that the best option for me will be to go to my placement to Prague so I am desperately trying to contact as many people as possible. I am offering people to work for them for free and it is extremely hard to make them reply. I would understand if my CV was not good enough but I have plenty of experience in the fashion industry. Hopefully I will be lucky soon and I will find something. Wish me luck. 🙂

Konec semestru už je téměř tady a většinou to znamená jednu věc. Letní prázdniny jsou tady. Bohužel mě to přináší jen spoustu stresu, jelikož musím najít roční stáž začínající během prázdnin. Vždycky jsem věděla, že to bude obtížné, ale je to mnohem těžší než jsem čekala. Odeslala jsem okolo 100 emailů a obdržela asi 10 odpovědí. Rozhodla jsem se, že nejlepší možností by pro mě bylo absolvovat stáž v Praze a momentálně se snažím kontaktovat co nejvíce lidí. Nabízím lidem roční neplacenou pracovní posilu a i přesto je neskutečně těžké obdržet jakoukoli odpověď. Rozuměla bych, pokud by můj životopis nebyl dostatečně adekvátní, ale já mám v módním průmyslu mnohaleté zkušenosti. Snad se mi podaří brzy něco najít nebo se z toho zblázním. Kdybyste o něčem v Praze věděli, budu vám moc vděčná za jakoukoli odpověď. 🙂

Hi Lucie, maybe you should try calling the places a few days after you email them? I do that with press releases and it is a good way to really push people to notice you. If you say 'oh, I didn't get the email' then you can specifically ask who you should send it to and resend it. It may seem pushy but the fashion industry is like that, we get a lot of emails per day.Good luck & I'm sure you'll find something :)Love this red/green look too 😀
